Can the color of our hairs change by itself as our eyes by years?

Can the color of our hair change by itself as our eyes by years?

Hair is epithelial tissue, consisting of strata and keratin epithelial tissues, which made of multiple layers and flat cells. Hair color changing is a natural process due to aging or internal or external causes, and it is the second faster-growing tissue in the body after bone marrow. However, hair color is determined according to genes inherited from parents. The health condition can be indicated by the color and thickness of the hair, which sometimes implies certain diseases or birth defects.

Hair color changes from blond to become brown
Eumelanin and pheomelanin are types of melanin pigments, which presents in the hair, and one’s hair color depends on the distribution of these pigments. Eumelanin is responsible for brown and black color degrees, whereas pheomelanin is responsible for red color. When one’s hair is blond or slightly red, and it turns to become brown colored in puberty is due to eumelanin increased levels.

Hair color becomes white
Hair follicles contain large quantities of melanin pigment, which gives the real color one’s hair. Once one aged, these follicles start losing this pigment, resulting in a stop supplying the hair with its original color. Thus, the hair becomes white, and hoary hair is the result. However, premature greying of  hair, or canities, can occur before the age of 30 due to several reasons, such as genetic, smoking, or deficiency of vitamin D3 and vitamin B12.

Reasons for hair color changed
Genetic, diet, stress, and pregnancy as well as heat exposure. In addition, hair dyes, aging, and certain disorders are other reasons. For example, immune system diseases, such as AIDS, autoimmune diseases, including Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and Graves’ disease are disorders, which lead to change one’s hair color. Vitiligo, Werner syndrome, and osteoporosis are also diseases that cause hair color changed.
