The hair is comprised of up to 95% of keratin protein, which is particularly riches in cysteine. A chain of amino acids is bonded together in a specific sequence to form a specific protein, and the hair has 18 to 23 different amino acids with cystine accounting for as much as 4% of the protein. The cystine bond is the most important bound in the hair; it accounts for 90% of the hair’s overall strength and toughness. In addition, the hydrogen bond, which gives the hair its elasticity, the salt bond, and the sugar bond. Other components produced in the hair bulbs by 3% are lipids that are formed from sterols, fatty acids, and cerimides.  Also, water is one of the hair components.

Therefore, the health and appearance of your hair are maintained by keeping your hair bonds, protein, amino acids, and water content as well as lipids at the right levels. As a result, following a healthy diet, containing water and practicing specific habits daily can give you a healthy shiny hair. For example, good sources of cysteine include broccoli, wheat germ, milk, and yogurt, so involving vitamin C and glycine in one’s diet can provide strength for his hair cartilage, bones, ligaments, and muscles. Glycine is one of the main building blocks of collagen; however, the body naturally produces glycine spinach, soybeans, and banana are the best sources of it. Apples are known to stimulate hair growth, reduce dandruff, and prevent hair loss. They contain vitamins and nutrients, such as vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B2, vitamin E, and calcium as well as soluble fibers. Also, antioxidants are other ingredients. Researchers indicated that biotin, which is a vitamin, promotes hair growth and infuses strength and thickness. Procyanidin B2 also prevents hair thinning and male pattern baldness. The real value of apples is in its organic compounds, for example phytonutrients and flavonoids, such as quercetin, epicatechin, phloridzin, and various other polyphenolic compounds.
